Vincent teaches computer science, innovation, and robotics at Notre Dame Academy in Los Angeles, where he leads AP Computer Science Principles, the school's disruptive innovation course, and its VEX Robotics teams. He has brought AI into his teaching since the month ChatGPT was released, and today his biggest focus is agentic coding: students direct AI agents such as Claude Code to turn their own ideas into inventions that solve real problems, and along the way they develop the judgment to question, verify, and improve what those tools produce.
How Vincent teaches, in his words
You will use AI a lot with me, not because AI is always right, but because the jobs of your future will expect you to understand it critically, and using it often is how you learn its strengths, its limits, and its failures firsthand. That never means trusting it blindly, letting it think for you, or skipping the step where you question and evaluate it.
You are allowed to use AI to help you learn and understand concepts, but you must be able to solve problems without it. AI can give wrong answers; it is your responsibility to check. You are the pilot, and the pilot never falls asleep in the cockpit.
It is my responsibility to equip you with computer science skills, and your responsibility to use those skills to better society.
